From SaaS to EdTech:

a pivot that paid Off

TL’DR

TL’DR

This project began as a casual chat and grew into a UX-driven journey. Initially a messaging app for SaaS, we built an MVP, but market response led us to pivot. Refocusing on EdTech, we turned it into a student-instructor platform—transforming a challenge into an opportunity.

This project kicked off as a casual chat over coffee between the CEO and me. We often find ourselves with a product idea and a vision while working on the tech side of things, but what we really need is someone to shape the user experience. When we talk about "design," that's exactly what we're aiming for—top-notch UX design

I love how most design projects begin like this. Someone brings me an idea to reinvent the wheel, but with a unique twist to make it even better. Fortunately for me, the CEO of this company was not just any leader but a dedicated and top-notch professional.

The design and development process we put together turned out to be a smashing success, showcasing the power of a small, super-efficient, and goal-crushing team. Exactly what a startup thrives on.

Initial plan

Initial plan

We created a messaging app, with existing features on other platforms with some enhanced features like, co-browsing etc. We specifically market this product to other SaaS providers.

I dove into the business analysis, crafted a comprehensive backlog, and laid out a clear roadmap for our journey. Once we had our direction, we assembled an incredible team under my leadership.

The kick-off

The kick-off

We dove into competitor research first, picking apart their features and mapping out what would set us apart. With that clarity in hand, we moved to wireframes, turning our ideas into something tangible. The team found its rhythm quickly, and before long, had an MVP that didn't just meet our timeline—it exceeded our expectations.

Sometimes the market has other plans for your product. Our initial launch landed with a whisper instead of a bang, teaching us a valuable lesson about finding the right audience.

That's when EdTech caught our eye. We reshaped our platform to connect students with their instructors for one-on-one sessions, and suddenly everything clicked. What started as a pivot turned into the perfect fit—proof that the best opportunities sometimes hide behind closed doors.
